American Idol recap:
I cannot believe we are at this stage in the game and have three contestants who fumble their words. Has this become no more than amature night at the Apollo? Very Disappointing....y'all need to step up your game.
I personally believe that Brandon and Melinda should be held to a higher standard. This is their profession. They should be used to singing in front of an audience, the gruling shedule, and learning the words to a new song each week...not much new there for them. The difference is that they are now in the front of the stage, but isn't that where they want to be? I'll admit it is no easy feat, and very nerve racking at times even to the most seasoned professionals...they just have more practical exposure to the lifestyle and less adjustments to make it would seem to me. I feel a little like I am channeling Simon right now.
Brandon...he's such a cutie and a good singer, but he deserves to have gotten the boot for forgetting his words.
Gina...I am rooting for her, she's from the MIdwest... a frequent performer at the Brat Stop in Kenosha, WI (which also gets some pretty big names) and she has a great voice.
Haley, did really well last night, depite fumbling on her words also.
Blake Lewis made a bad call on the rearrangement of his song, but he is a great performer and still in my top four.
Jordin, a cute girl and I have a feeling she has yet to show us what she really can do.
Lakisha is a superstar, she is just awesome, WOW! I hope she does Broadway next.
Chris Richardson...He's my pick for this year's American Idol. This kid has got the "it" factor in Spades. His singing was just so-so and it was still a great performance...that is an entertainer, a person with real star quality.
Chris Sligh...again great guy, I was really pulling for him to go to the top 24. But now it is time to go, go. I'm completely over him.
Melinda - I swear I was channeling Simon last night moments before he said she reminded him of a young Gladys Knight, I had said the exact same thing (during Paula's blubbering -Geez) I have witnesses.
Stephanie Edwards did a notable job, but I am not quite sure what Ms. Diana Ross saw in her.
Phil Stacey, not one of my faves -- did an outstanding job last night, good for him.
Sanjaya, please stop messing with your hair. I like the whole Fara Faucet hair thing...when you straighten it or curl it or style it in any other femmy way...it creeps me out. Let's keep it about the music kid, you are a good singer, really....just no personality on stage.
