Patterns to be broken
I recently started going to therapy, here's something interesting I learned this week:
In our intimate relationships we are either unconsciously drawn to the very situation that will, in some way, re-create the abusive environment of our childhoods, or we will automatically interpret and react to situations as we did as children. We are then unable to process our experiences in an effective way.
In retrospect, this has been true for me in almost 100% of my relationships...unfortunately, I have only been able to identify this long after the fact.
