Death according to Lazarus...
This week's Idol Chatter
Lakisha, was an awesome way to start of the show, while I still see her as more of a broadway performer than a pop idol, the girl has got crazy talent. She remains in a league of her own.
Chris Sligh, he quite improved and made me remember why I liked him in the first place with toinight's performance, he was off-beat and he readily admitted it with a humble attitude, that was nice to see. Chris you are a great guy with a very good voice, but you won't be around much longer.
Gina Glocksen, my girl from (illinois really) WIsconsin! She did so well I was really happy for her. She is proving that she should be here.
Hayley Scarnato, She looked great, sounded great, I liked how she did the song. Her version was really pretty. But it is one of those songs that you just don't mess with I think, and that is what turned everyone off, She seems to be having a very hard time finding out who she is, and what genre she needs to stick with. I wonder how she would do if she sang more country, she reminds me of Carrie Underwood in some ways.
Sanjaya, can you please stop with the hair. He is young, but he reminds me of the Middle school boys I used to work with. It's pretty bad when even Simon is tired of hearing himself tell him that he's just not good enough. And the horrible thing is, I think he can sing, but for whatever reason he's not really trying. You can tell in his song choice. He just doesn't want it as some others do. That's why he won't make it. Maybe all he needs to do is mature a little.
Phil Stacey...WOW... he was my favorite performace of the night. As you know, if you have been reading my AI reviews, I have not been a fan of Stacey since Hollywood, but he was an excellent performer tonight. I was surprised they didn't call his a copy cat preformance, but he was really good...dare I say it? I liked it better than the original.
Blake Lewis...what was that? And he's the front runner? I have said that for a long time now, but based on last night's performance, it was a mess, I hated it. Sounding better than the Cure, isn't much of a feat in my opinion.
Melinda proved yet again she's got crazy amounts of talent. She will be a HUGE R&B singer, HUGE! It would be great if she did some broadway stuff too. My only gripe with her is I would much rather listen to her perform, than watch her. She'll do well on the radio.
Jordin Sparks, last night she was fun and cute but I just didn't get what the judges were so crazy about. Sometimes I think Paula and Randy just reiterate what the Celebrity guest say, but in there own (sometimes confusing) words. And I love her, but this really could have been better. I expect more from Jordin than what she showed last night. She is better than that perfromance.
Chris...I thought you did well, you're my guy. And could he possible be as humble and modest as he seems? Not your best, but still very good, and much better than Blake Lewis
